In rural areas, people walk an average of 3 kilometers to fill a bucket of water.

It is estimated that 400 million people–out of China’s 1.3 billion–are without adequate access to safe, clean drinking water. On May 12, shortly after the group’s return, a terrible earthquake struck southwest China.
