Internships
An internship at Living Water connects your passion, your education, and God's calling for your life. It will not only help you develop your professional skills, but will challenge you to grow in your faith. You will learn how a nonprofit organization operates, and gain insight into the various strategies and programs that Living Water undertakes to provide water to desperate communities in Jesus’ name. The internship is designed to provide you with opportunities to explore career paths within the nonprofit sector.
The program is designed for individuals who demonstrate:
- A calling to Christian mission
- Maturity and leadership
- Willingness to serve where needed
Please note that all internships are unpaid. Interns must agree to Living Water’s Statement of Faith.
2012 Summer Internships
Summer internships last from May 21 – August 9, M-Th. 9a-4p. All internships are based out of Houston unless indicated otherwise. Applicants must be willing to temporarily relocate.
Web Development
Will work with Creative Director and Communication Team in managing stories and content to connect people with the thirsty as well as help us make our website more simple and easy to use.
Graphic Design
Do you have a passion for making something as simple as the layout of words look beautiful? Are you proficient with the adobe creative suite? Come work with our advocacy team this summer and turn their ideas into design. *Please submit a portfolio
Social Media
Will work with Creative Director and Communication Team in harnessing social media to tell the story of the thirsty: duties managing social media campaigns, engaging with our social networks and being really, really cool.
Global Training Intern
Be a part of our global training team! This administrative focused internship will help with the logistics of our training programs and develop and prepare for international conferences. Spanish speakers are a plus, but not required.
Team Living Water
We’re looking for someone that loves sports and more importantly, loves being active for a cause. This intern will help further establish Team Living Water and expand our reach in races and endurance events across the nation.
Grassroots Development
Could you talk about the water crisis all day? Do you get lost in all of your new ideas? We’d love for you to come spend some time with us as we further develop and create new grassroots campaigns for our supporters to engage with.
IT
You wouldn’t believe the technology required to keep us running. Assist our IT Manager, get to know the entire Living Water Staff, and learn more about technology and networks within a non-profit environment.
Mission Trips Support
Support the work of our mission trip department this summer by being our trip coordinators’ right hand person. You’ll learn the ins and outs of trip coordination and program planning. (You will not travel with this position)

Donor Communications
Taking care of folks is at the heart of fundraising. Help our regional rep love and respond to donors well by assisting with donor communications, news updates, thank you gestures, press releases, information packets, and all kinds of other good stuff!
Event Planner
Create, plan, coordinate, organize and follow-up with outreach events for the California office and the churches & organizations they serve. Events will spread the mission of and/or raise funds for Living Water.
Speakers Bureau
Spread the word about Living Water! A spunky, organized, and absolutely not-shy intern will coordinate and organize speaking opportunities in the Southwest region of the U.S.
